Bugs and Fairies is a supplier of hand-knitted baby knits and children’s clothes, offered to unique and special contemporary and classic designs. The company has a special connection with Bosnia.

The idea for Bugs and Fairies was formed after visits by the company owners to Bosnia, where many women - widows and bereaved mothers and daughters – have used knitting, a traditional skill learned at their mother’s knees and passed down through the generations, as a form of therapy to help overcome the trauma of the 1990's conflict.

Bugs and Fairies, a Fair Trade company, is helping these women get back on their feet financially through incorporating their skills into a creative line of children’s clothes for the British market. The company has worked with some of these women to design and develop a collection of classical quality children’s clothes, for newborns through to five years of age.

The result was Bugs and Fairies, who now have developed a line of exquisite hand-crafted clothing that combines traditional hand needle-knitting skills with contemporary design. The aim is to produce children’s clothes combining classical with chic in unique pieces of such high quality that each will be cherished as an heirloom.
