Zenith Holidays 2018 Cycling Tours

Activity holiday specialist, Zenith Holidays offers a range of cycling holidays which are accessible, fun and affordable. Destinations include Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Croatia, France, and Greece.

One suggested itinerary is 'Cycling the Castles of Slovenia', an eight-day self-guided tour with departures between May and October 2018 that features fortresses, sparkling wines and spas. This tour is rated easy/medium on the cycle scale and is suitable for cyclists of average fitness.

The trip begins in the city of Maribor on the banks of the Drava River and ends in the town of Otocec on the Krka River. It passes through lush scenery of vineyards and orchards, rolling hills, river valleys, tiny villages and towns such as Ptuj and Brezice. Highlights include magnificent castles such as Ptuj Castle, Mokrice Castle and the mighty Kostanjevica Castle, plus the villages along the Krka River which specialise in hearty regional cuisine and serve the unique local wine of Cvicek, made from red and white grapes. There is also time for a spot of pampering and relaxation at the Smarjeske Spa perched above the Krka Plain.

Twin-share prices start at £743 per person inclusive of accommodation with breakfast in castle hotels and guesthouses, cycle hire, luggage transfers between destinations, an information package with text road book and maps plus a backup service hotline during the trip.

Flights and airport transfers are not included but Zenith can arrange or advise if required. There are also options for guided group trips.
