Wendy Wu Tours First Dedicated Japan Brochure

Wendy Wu Tours has launched its portfolio of brochures for 2017/18, including a dedicated Japan brochure for the first time.

To celebrate the launch, the Asia specialist has partnered with Cathay Pacific to offer an exclusive business class upgrade from £99 per person one way on selected tours to China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Burma and Japan on new bookings made before October 31 2016 flying from Manchester, Gatwick or Heathrow.

The Japan brochure features a new Discovery Tour, ‘Trails of Japan’ which costs from £4,890 per person. The 13-day itinerary allows travellers to experience the quirky side of Japan, including immersing themselves in the sub-culture of Harajuku in Tokyo, visiting the Robot restaurant, watching a Sumo wrestling match, as well as a journey to the sacred town of Koya-san and meeting the snow monkeys. There is also a new Exclusive Collection tour of Japan. The 12-day ‘Golden Route’ which costs from £6,990 per person allows guests to explore the destination in luxury. They can drink a cold glass of sake on Mount Fuji, have a go at making traditional sushi and study the art of Kendo, a form of swordsmanship.

In Wendy Wu's China programme, there are two new Discovery Tours, which aim to provide guests with a more authentic and active travel experience as well as more free time to explore. The 17-day ‘Enchanting China’ tour (from £2,990) introduces guests to the best sights of Beijing, Xian, Shanghai and Chengdu, as well a three-night river cruise along the Yangtze River. The 21-day Land of the Dragon trip (from £3,290) includes the imperial highlights of Beijing, a cruise along the Li River, a meet with Giant Pandas and a breakfast walking tour in Shanghai, as well as including plenty of free time and optional excursions.

Tibet has been tipped by Wendy Wu Tours to be very popular in 2017 and travellers can experience this fascinating destination as part of the 18-day ‘China & Spiritual Tibet’ trip (from £5,490). The luxurious tour is part of the Exclusive Collection and highlights include three nights on a deluxe Yangtze cruise and a day trip to witness the magnificent views over Yamdrok Lake.

For those looking for adventure, the new 23-day ‘Trans Himalayan Journey’ (from £3,790) takes guests through the Himalayas to the state of Ladakh, discovering the breathtaking mountains and monasteries of this former Buddhist kingdom.

The new 15-day ‘Spirit of Sri Lanka’ tour (from £3,190) will appeal to travellers who are looking to journey through Sri Lanka’s extensive history, culture and natural beauty, discovering the ruins of ancient civilisations, spotting exotic wildlife and hiking the hill country. Both of these itineraries are part of Wendy Wu Tours’ expanding Discovery Tours portfolio.

Following an increasing demand for holidays in Burma, Wendy Wu Tours has introduced the 14-day ‘Burma & the Irrawaddy’ tour (from £3,790), which visits the capital city Rangoon and the cultural Mandalay, as well as including a two-night Irrawaddy cruise with Pandaw.

Another addition to the Exclusive Collection is the 22-day ‘Majestic Mekong’ tour (from £5,490) where guests can enjoy a luxury cruise along the Mekong in Cambodia onboard the boutique RV Jahan vessel, sip champagne as the sun sets on the temples of Angkor and learn to cook like a local with a Hoi An cooking class in Vietnam.
