The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) has officially opened its first international office in London in February 2020 during a ceremony at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
More than 250 dignitaries attended the evening hosted by Le Quang Tung, deputy minister of The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Kate White, director of Asia Pacific at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office. Among the honoured guests was the Vietnam Ambassador to the UK, the chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board, tour operators, wider travel trade and consumer media.
The Vietnam Tourism Board has chosen London as the location for its first overseas representative office and the PC Agency will now work on the country’s recent VietnamNOW campaign, promoting the country’s varied offerings including historic Hue and Hoi An; areas of natural beauty including Nha Trang, Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha Ke Bang; the Mekong Delta; cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; and dramatic islands Con Dao and Phu Quoc.
Over 315,000 British visitors chose to visit Vietnam in 2019, up nearly 6% from the previous year.
