Unique Cottages Spring Bank Holiday Breaks

Scottish cottage agency, Unique Cottages, is highlighting a wealth of cottages available to rent for Spring Bank Holiday 2014, ranging from cosy little bolt holes for couples, family-sized properties with lots to see and do nearby and impressive country houses for groups of friends.

For couples, the company is featuring Duncanhaugh Granary, the former grain store of an old flour mill. It is situated close to Bowmont Water near the village of Yetholm in the scenic Scottish Borders countryside. The cottage, with its snug sitting room, stylish dining kitchen and spacious super-king bedroom with adjoining en suite shower room, is the ideal retreat for those seeking a relaxing Spring Bank Holiday break in superb scenery. Seven miles north of Inverness near the village of Muir of Ord, is Peediequoy Cottage, an immaculate detached house (sleeping six) set in a lawned garden with views across the fields to Beauly Firth. This spacious property has three bedrooms, a sitting room, a dining room, kitchen and two bath/shower rooms. Close by are lots of family-friendly sandy beaches like Chanonry Point one of the prime dolphin spotting sites in Europe as well as the buzzing city of Inverness. For a large family, or a group of friends, Attinlea Tower House (sleeping 10) is situated in the Cairngorms National Park near the village of Nethy Bridge. This impressive property stands in its own extensive grounds and has two reception rooms with vaulted ceilings and open fires a library, kitchen and four bedrooms (all en suite, one with a four poster bed and two in the tower reached by a spiral stone staircase) Outside, the bothy provides a further double en suite bedroom. Activities closeby include riding, white-water rafting, mountain biking and fishing. Also within easy reach are distilleries on the malt whisky trail and three RSPB reserves.
