Undiscovered Destinations Offers Haiti Tour

As the operator freely admits, Haiti doesn’t feature on the radar of most travellers, but true to their name, Undiscovered Destinations is excited to introduce a unique journey to this charming and resilient nation.

The 12-day escorted small group tour 'Haiti - Land of Mountains' starts in the capital Port au Prince and includes visits to the laid-back port town of Jacmel, with its wonderful art and craft shops. The tour then continues south along the coast to Port Salut, visiting the Marie Jeanne Caves, an elaborate cave system with beautiful underground rock formations.

Highlights include visits to community projects in the Cité Soleil region of Port au Prince and to an authentic vodou festival. During the trip, a flight from Port au Prince heads over the mountains to the north and Haiti's second city, Cap Haitian. It is here that the group get to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of La Citadelle La Ferriere and the palace of Sans Souci. The vast Citadelle is an imposing fortress built on the mountain top to resist a French invasion and gives stunning views over the Caribbean.

Undiscovered Destinations has regular tours scheduled in Haiti with the first departing on November 8 2018. The tour costs £2175 per person, based on two people travelling and sharing a room, excluding international flights. Return flights from London to Port au Prince and return from Cap Haitian start at £625 and can be booked through the operator. Groups are always limited to a maximum of 12 people.
