Ramblers Holidays Launches Adagio Brand

Ramblers Holidays has launched Adagio, a new more leisurely walking and sightseeing programme of gentle seven-night walking tours for summer 2013, based on selected European destinations. Prices start from £799 per person.

Examples include an exploration of the chateaux and vineyards of The Loire Valley. The tour begins with a Eurostar train via Paris to Tours and coach travel on to Chinon. A visit to the Greek island of Evia features stunning scenery, and walks to churches and villages. Visiting Marmari and Karystos, the trip’s highlights include the Kalivia Environmental Centre, the church of Agia Triada, and Greek language and cooking lessons. Travel is by air to Athens and then by ferry.

Three seven-night cruise options are also included, in conjunction with AmaWaterways. A Danube on Foot tour departs on August 23 2013 onboard the new luxury river cruiser AmaCerto. It cruises from the German city of Vilshofen and includes walks along the River Vils to Schweiklberg Monastery, a lunchtime cruise to Passau in  the Austrian Lake District, a ride on the Schafberg Railway, a visit to the idyllic  Wachau wine village of Dürnstein, breakfast in Vienna followed by a city tour with a local guide, a visit to a wine Heurige in the Vienna Woods, a tour of the old town of Bratislava and exploration of Budapest and Margaret Island on foot.
