On The Go Launches Tours in Norway

On The Go Tours has launched a selection of tours in Norway. There are now more budget flights to Norway which make it a more affordable and accessible destination. One way flights from the UK with Norwegian start from £34.90 per person.

The operator has developed six itineraries including two group guided tours, one self-drive adventure and three short stays. From a journey on the scenic Flam Railway to a self-drive holiday through Norway's stunning fjords, as well as weekend breaks to Oslo and Bergen and an encounter with wildlife in Svalbard, Norway's northern Arctic region, the new itineraries show off the best of the country.

The four-day Oslo Weekend Stay, available from September 2016, costs from £415 per person and includes three nights in a three-star hotel with breakfast, airport transfer on arrival and a 72-hour Oslo Pass which offers complimentary entry to over 30 museums, free local transport and discounts in local restaurants, sightseeing and attractions. Flights from the UK are not included.

A seven-day group guided Magic of the Fjords tour in summer 2017 costs from £1,495 per person. It begins in Oslo exploring the medieval fortress of Akershus, the Oslo Opera House, Royal Palace and Vigeland Sculpture Park. After taking in the sites onboard the famous Flam Railway, the tour will continue across Balestrand via a boat, giving travellers free time to explore the scenic village. The tour comes to an end after taking in the beautiful city of Bergen on a sightseeing tour and strolling through the narrow lanes of ancient Bryggen - the symbol of Norway's cultural heritage and UNESCO's World Heritage site. The price includes airport transfer on arrival, six nights in three or four-star accommodation with daily breakfast and two dinners, English speaking guide, guided sightseeing in Oslo and Bergen, train from Oslo to Flam, ferries between Flam and Balestrand and Balestrand and Bergen. Flights from the UK are not included.

Another option, a five-day Wild Svalbard private tour, journeys to the extreme north of Norway to Spitsbergen and costs from £1385 per person. Departing in July and August 2017, travellers will have the opportunity to get close to Norway’s distinct wildlife and nature heading to the foot of Breinos Mountain to sled ride with Norwegian huskies. On board the Arctic Spirit expedition explorers will sail to the west side of the fjord, before crossing Isfjorden at Kapp Starostin where they will witness thousands of nesting birds at the mighty cliffs of Alkehornet. The journey continues to the Esmark Glacier in Ymerbukta with the chance to spot the blue whale and polar bear. The price includes airport transfer on day one, four nights hotel accommodation with breakfast in Svalbard, one lunch and dinner on the boat safari and dog sledging.
