Naturetrek Launches 2014 Brochure

Wildlife holiday specialist Naturetrek has launched its latest brochure.  The programme for 2014 features a new birdwatching and cultural tour to Oman, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to track Lowland Gorillas in the Republic of Congo, a 17-day trip to Brazil that focuses on South America’s Big Five (Brazilian Tapir, Giant Anteater, Maned wolf, Giant River Otter and Jaguar) and an expedition to observe the thriving Wildcats of the Navarro in Spain.

A 14-day The Best of Northern Tanzania safari is an opportunity to view some of the largest herds of game left on Earth and their natural predators across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Arusha National Park. The gathering of 1.2 million Blue Wildebeest creates one of the world’s greatest wildlife spectacles and there’s a good chance of observing prides of Lions, Spotted Hyena, African Elephants, Masai Giraffe and African Buffalo. The trip departs on March 5 2014 and costs £5195 per person including flights from London, comfortable lodge accommodation and two nights in a tented camp at Lake Natron, all meals, vehicular safaris and guide.

The 11-day Oman – Birds, Desert & Culture tour will seek out the resident and migrant birds of Oman’s north-east and south-west, taking in splendid Arabian Desert scenery and typical Arab hospitality. The avifauna here reflects Oman’s strategic position in the Middle East, with influences from the Indian subcontinent as well as Africa. Departing November 2 2014, the tour costs £2995per person and includes flights from London, all transport and transfers whilst on tour, nine nights full-board accommodation and expert guiding.

The six-day Navarra in Winter – Realm of the Wildcat short break will focus on seeking out wildcats but also enjoy the area’s birds, mammals and spectacular Pyrenean scenery. It is also likely that the group will see winter parties of Snowfinch, and there will be a chance to explore canyons and forested limestone gorges for Peregrines, eagles and Wallcreepers. The tour has two departures, on March 9 and 16 2014, and costs £1095 per person. This includes flights and all transport whilst on tour, all accommodation, food and expert guiding.

All prices are based on two sharing. The majority of Naturetrek trips operate in small groups (average 10-12 people; maximum 16); because these groups include many solo travellers, there’s usually a room-sharing option for those who don’t wish to pay a single supplement.  Each group is guided by an experienced ornithologist or botanist (often both), and each tour departs at a time when the wildlife-viewing experience will be at its most rewarding.
