Irish Ferries Holidays Summer Savers

Irish Ferries Holidays is urging British families to take advantage of a price drop on Irish holiday cottage rentals from August 17 2013, saving up to £266 on peak season prices.

British families can take advantage of the fact that Irish schools go back early, making holidays starting August 17 shoulder rather than peak season.

For example, a four-star standard, three-bedroom holiday cottage sleeping six, set just outside the seaside village of Waterville in County Kerry is good value at £1002 for a week’s rental starting August 10. But it’s a bargain at £736 for the week starting August 17, a saving of £266. The holiday includes return ferry travel for a car, two adults and up to four children under 16.

Waterville is idyllically set above Ballinskelligs Bay, with the Kerry mountains rising behind, golf, fishing and horse-riding available close by and a choice of white-sand beaches for swimming and surfing.

Wait until the last week of August and the price drops further, down to £624 in total, again including travel and accommodation for a family of six.

Only an hour and a half from Irish Ferries’ port at Rosslare is the holiday village of Seacliff. These four-star standard cottages enjoy a cliff top location next to Dunmore East Golf Club, and are within a 10 minute walk of the sandy beach at Counsellors Strand.

The mid-August price drop here means that a week’s holiday starting August 17 in a three-bedroom holiday home sleeping two adults and up to three children under 16 costs £613, a drop of £262 from the previous week. And seven nights starting August 24 is £538 – again, including ferry travel.

Other holiday cottage locations include Mayo, Sligo and Galway in the far west, County Cork and County Wexford.
