Icelandair To Expand Route Network in 2013

Icelandair has announced that it will expand its route network in 2013 with a new service to Anchorage, Alaska. The airline will also increase frequency from Glasgow and Gatwick.

There will be two flights per week from Icelandair's hub at Reykjavik to Anchorage between May 15 and September 15 2013 (Wednesdays and Sundays outbound, Mondays and Thursdays inbound) giving passengers from the UK a shorter and more economical route to Alaska.

From March 15 2013, the airline's Glasgow service will be increased to four times per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays) with the addition of a Friday flight.  And Icelandair’s newest UK gateway, Gatwick, will increase service starting May 21 2013 to three times per week (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays) with the addition of a Thursday flight.

Icelandair flies from four UK gateways (Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Glasgow) to Iceland with connecting service to Boston, Denver, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York City, Orlando, Seattle, Washington, DC, Halifax and Toronto.
