Friendship Adds City Breaks

Singles specialist Friendship Travel has introduced two new Hosted city breaks to its portfolio of short breaks for 2017. Destinations already included are Barcelona, Marrakech and Belfast.

The French city of Nantes is offered on three weekends, departing Friday 12 May, 11 August and 29 September. The four-star Mercure Nantes Centre Gare is the base for three nights: each guest enjoys their own room with no single supplement to pay. The Host will suggest sightseeing options but there is no fixed itinerary, so that guests can explore either with fellow travellers or alone during the day, meeting up at mealtimes.

Set on the banks of the River Loire, the old town has numerous grand buildings and is easy to discover on foot: just follow the tourist board’s green lines on the pavement. Visitors can also expect good restaurants, chic shops, green parks and modern street art.

Prices start from £466, to include return flights from Gatwick, transfers, three nights’ bed and breakfast and the support of a Friendship Travel Host throughout. Other than breakfasts, meals are not included, enabling guests to try out local restaurants together.

Two Athens weekends depart Friday 9 June and 6 October. Friendship Travel’s chosen hotel is the three-star-plus Athens Cypria. Many in the group will want to visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon among Athens’ famous sights, but there is plenty of flexibility during the three-night break.

Prices start from £650 to include return flights from Gatwick, transfers, three nights’ bed and breakfast and the support of a Friendship Travel Host throughout. Again, other than breakfasts, meals are not included.
