Brittany Ferries New Route to Le Havre

Brittany Ferries has launched a new cross-Channel route from the south coast port of Portsmouth to Le Havre in Normandy.

The new service will operate four days a week, from Thursday to Sunday, using the company's fastcraft, Normandie Express. Crossing time is around 3 hours 45 minutes. The schedule, which will run until September 8 2013, is as follows:

  •  Departs Portsmouth 07:00, arrives Le Havre 11:45
  •  Departs Le Havre 12:30, arrives Portsmouth 15:15
The new option is Brittany Ferries' tenth passenger route and also the easternmost route, making it particularly convenient for those heading for the east of France, Paris, Disneyland Paris, and the Alps.
UNESCO-listed Le Havre is an intriguing destination in its own right, and Brittany Ferries is currently offering citybreaks there from £72 per person, including foot-passenger ferry crossings and one night's B&B accommodation at the city's Art Hotel or Novotel. Attractions include a two-kilometre beach right in the town centre, a host of museums (including the biggest collection of impressionist art outside Paris), several shopping centres and a wide range of good restaurants.
