Barrhead Travel Doubles Flights for 2013

Barrhead Travel is planning its largest-ever flight programme from Scotland to popular holiday destinations and cruise departure ports in summer 2013, adding new routes and increasing capacity.

The Scottish independent will offer 20,000 seats between May and October 2013. It will charter British Airways aircraft to fly from Glasgow to Palma, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona and Venice and from Aberdeen to Alicante, Malaga and Barcelona.

The Barrhead flights will be the only direct services from Aberdeen to Alicante and Barcelona available next summer.

Founded in Glasgow by Bill Munro in 1975, Barrhead Travel now employs more than 600 staff in 35 stores. The group also operates a range of online brands including the US based Flightsdirect and niche travel website Bargainshortbreaks.com.
